At Turtle Creek Dental, your dental health is important to us. We offer emergency dentistry services to the Mississauga area. We know how busy life gets and how unexpected issues can get in the way, which is why we offer same-day emergency dental care.
I Broke My Tooth; What Do I Do?
Teeth are strong, but they’re not invincible. Fractures, cracks or breaks can happen at unexpected times. If you’ve cracked or broken your tooth, call our dental professionals as soon as possible to set up an emergency dental appointment. In the meantime, if you have the tooth fragment you should rinse it off and save it. Our emergency dentists in Mississauga may be able to reattach the fragment to your tooth when you arrive. Next, rinse your mouth with lukewarm water and apply gauze afterwards for ten minutes if there is any bleeding. Once your mouth is rinsed, place a cold, damp, clean cloth to your cheek to minimize any swelling or pain. You can also take over-the-counter pain relievers to minimize pain.

My Tooth was Knocked Out; Now What?
If a tooth has been knocked out of your mouth, call your emergency dentist in Mississauga immediately and pick up the lost tooth by the crown (don’t touch the root!). Rinse the tooth under warm water, and, if possible, place the tooth back in its socket or tucked inside your cheek. If you can’t keep the tooth safely in your mouth, then store it in a glass of milk or saliva to keep it moist until you get to the dentist (only use water as a last resort). It’s possible for a tooth to reattach itself if it can be placed back into its socket properly within an hour after losing it, so urgent attention is crucial.
If you have any additional questions or concerns about emergency dental services, please contact us directly.
